27 Weeks Age 5 to Adult and is a yearly program
Ballet is the foundation of all disciplines. Ballet offers
structure, poise, grace, strenght and elegance. The
Cecchetti method of Classic Ballet will combine Musicality,
Discipline, Edicate, and the purest form of technique around!
Classes are for the entire Dance season.
27 Weeks Ages 5 to Adult and is a yearly program
This course combines ballet, jazz and contemporary dance forms. Lyrical class begins with stretching and moves into combinations done to songs of various genres enjoyed by students
27 Weeks Age 8 to Adult and is a yearly program
Contemporary is a genre of dance performance that focuses on freedom of movement. Breaking the conventional style of dance allowing dancers to connect mind and body to fluid movement.
27 Weeks Age 5 to Adult and is a yearly program
Hip hop dance is also known as street dance which included breakin, popping, locking, grooving and upbeat moves. This style is performed to hip hop music where rapping if often included.

Jazz dance is all about style. These styles include slow jazz, Broadway, African, classical and fossy. Jazz is all about technique emphasizing hands, shoulders, feet and head. Usually performed to upbeat music with quick movements and turns, kicks and jumps, etc.
Flow yoga is a series of held postures fused together using breath. Always a variety of movements, no two classes are alike

Richelle is so excited to be going into her second season in her new home town with her daughter Brooke joining the faculty in their new facility. Richelle’s training began at age 3 and has continued ever since, increasing her passion and knowledge for the art of dance.
Richelle studied theatre and dance at Ryerson for 2 years before moving onto the NATIONAL BALLET SCHOOL in TORONTO. She has been trained by many of Canada’s Cecchetti Ballet examiners and is a member of classical ballet faculty (Associate CSC-CICB) Richelle is a certified jazz educator for the ADAPT method of dance. Richelle has had many students earn acceptance info full time ballet programs and her students continue to have excellent success each year in ballet exams. Richelle is a qualified Adjudicator for various dance competitions across Canada. Richelle looks forward to sharing her love of ballet and lifelong experiences with the Millbrook community & surrounding areas.
Richelle has been teaching for 32 years, and has worked for many wonderful studios around the GTA and Durham region. She was the owner & Artistic Director of Island Dance Studio for 16 years & was choreographer for the Nutcracker Ballet for 14 years.
To The Pointe will offer recitals in 2020 and Parent Days until then. We will not participate in competition but would be happy to offer community entertainment and dance at local events in the future. See you at the Ballet Barre!
Brooke Van Dyk is a Toronto based dancer, who spent most of her time growing up at Island Dance Studio in Port Perry, Ontario. Dance has always been a huge impact on her life and has inspired her to pursue a career as a professional dancer. Brooke has performed in both corporate and public events across the GTA, including performing for Sick Kids events and Human Resources. She has also danced at Yonge and Dundas square in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for Illuminite, a Christmas Holiday show sponsored by Samsung. She has also performed in LA in The Carnival as well as opened for the Bare Naked ladies as a rockette at Casino Rama.
Her training includes Ballet (Cechetti syllabus), Jazz, Tap (ADAPT syllabus), lyrical, contemporary, pointe, hip hop, cultural, musical theatre, vocal and acting. Brooke is currently studying at Centennial College in the Dance Performance Diploma Program where she graduated with honours in 2018. Completing her placement hours downtown Toronto with Barreworks, with her plans to get her Teacher training for their Barreworks Certification program. Yoga is another passion Brooke enjoys practicing, as she completes the energy Exchange program with Moksha Yoga in Brooklin and is in the process to completing her teacher training program.
Dance is in every aspect of her life and gives her inspiration to continue to explore her opportunities as a professional dancer.
